Duties at the Attorney General’s Chambers Guyana
While employed at the Attorney General’s Chambers during the period 1989 to 2001, Ms. Ali’s duties as State Counsel included the following Constitutional and Administrative Law matters:
Acted as Counsel tendering advice to Government Departments/Ministries and public officials on legal matters;

Acted as Counsel representing the Attorney General and public officers in the Land Court, High Court, Full Court and the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Judicature of Guyana in proceedings instituted by or against the State, including constitutional and administrative law litigation;

The preparation of and the vetting of contracts;

Assisting junior State Counsel with legal opinions and in the preparation of their cases for litigation;

Researching, preparing and tendering legal opinions;

The drafting of pleadings;
- Tendering advice on the interpretation and drafting of laws of Guyana.
